Noble Slate-Grown Vines

We organically cultivate 20 hectares of vineyards (14 hectares of which we own).
The vines are between 3 and 100 years old, and all planted on ‘Llicorella’, a soil of broken slate.

Noble vines

Noble vines mainly of Garnatxa Negra and Carinyena from various regions of the DOQ Priorat. The vineyards are in the areas of Falset (Les Aubagues), Poboleda, Porrera, Bellmunt, El Molar, El Lloar and La Vilella Alta.

Soils and climate

Vineyards at height on a broken slate (llicorella) soil.

Very poor terrain, slate, very stony meaning that the vines suffer and produce very small quantities of fruit (5-25 hl/ha). Extreme weather conditions: very cold winter and hot, dry summer.
